The Seychelles Republic consists of an archipelago of some 115 islands and has the world's smallest capital city (Victoria).

Tipping: Not obligatory as restaurants usually include 5-10% service charge

Duty Free: Entering Seychelles limited to 2L spirits + 2L wine + 200 cigarettes / 250g of tobacco + 200ml of perfume

Local dishes: Créole cuisine includes plenty of fish (barracuda, kingfish, octopus, squid), rice & soups (tec tec).

Baby sitting: There is limited private baby sitters in Beau Vallon however several resorts do offer child care services & facilities

Credit Cards: VISA & Mastercards accepted everywhere. Amex & Diners limited acceptance

ATMs only pay out Rupees and can be found in shopping areas and banks. The ATM in Beau Vallon is located at a shop called Bon Value Shop opposite the police station - it's a Barclays bank ATM

Best time to visit is April/May & Oct (between tradewinds). That said it's perfect weather all year round.

April rainfall: Ave 16 days with 11mm/day. It's the tropics so showers are brief (1-2 hrs) and are generally isolated to one area

Transport:

Taxis are generally considered expensive in Seychelles

A taxi will take ~25 mins from the airport to Beau Vallon & cost ~€30 (SCR 440 or AUD $44 or USD $33). Taxi drivers will accept EUR & USD

Buses run regularly between Victoria & Beau Vallon and take 10mins and cost ~ €1
-
Hiring cars is cheaper than getting taxis everywhere

They drive on the LHS of the road. and you require a valid Int'l or EU license to hire cars

Scooter hire is banned in Seychelles in fear of a tourist backlash from reported accidents. You can however hire cool looking buggies!
